Pouya Shahbazi is a distinguished Iranian-American director of photography renowned for his expertise in narrative storytelling. With a versatile portfolio spanning fiction, commercial, experimental, and music video projects, Pouya brings a unique visual artistry to every endeavor.

Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, Pouya’s early exposure to the rich tapestry of Persian culture profoundly influences his cinematic vision. He pursued his passion for film at Columbia College Chicago, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema Arts + Sciences with a specialization in cinematography. His academic background, coupled with his diverse practical experiences, has equipped him with a deep understanding of both the technical and creative aspects of visual storytelling.

Pouya made his feature film debut with Roxana, a critically acclaimed film that premiered at the prestigious 36th Tokyo International Film Festival. This breakthrough project showcased his ability to craft compelling visuals and solidified his reputation in the industry.
